Speaker Bios:

Gary Solomon, MBA, MS, OTR/L, CHT, COMT graduated from the Occupational Therapy program at Washington University in St. Louis in 1993, and became a Certified Hand Therapist in 1999. He also received his MBA in 2010.


He has worked as the Director of Therapy at Chicago Metro Hand Therapy, alongside the physicians of Hand to Shoulder Associates since 1998. His primary area of clinical interest is the post operative management of traumatic upper extremity injuries.


Gary is a Past President of the American Society of Hand Therapists, and has also served as Vice President, Secretary Treasurer and Education Division Director for ASHT,


He is currently the Chairman of the American Hand Therapy Foundation, and on the Board of Directors for the Hand Therapy Certification Commission.


He has also served as an Affiliate Board Member for the American Association for Hand Surgery.


Gary lectures frequently and and teaches continuing education courses throughout the United States.


Lisa Kozden, PhD, OTR/L, CHT, COMT is an occupational therapist with 25 years of experience in treating hand and upper extremity conditions. She graduated with a Master’s Degree in occupational therapy (MOT) in 2000 from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Lisa became certified as a hand therapist (CHT) in 2008 and as an orthopedic manual therapist (COMT) in 2014 by the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine US (IAOM-US). She also owned and operated a part-time practice for 12 years in Northeastern Pennsylvania. In 2023, Lisa earned a PhD in occupational therapy from NSU. Over the last 10 years, she has been teaching full-time in the Occupational Therapy Department at The University of Scranton in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The topic of her research involves the merging of a psychoneuroimmunology (PNI)-based program into upper extremity rehabilitation.
